Canada Economic Development’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund

The Honourable Denis Label, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Québec, has issued a reminder that the second and last call for proposals under the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund has been open since February 18, 2013, and interested organizations are invited to submit their projects online. The Fund aims to support the restoration, improvement and expansion of existing community infrastructure, including:

  • Community centres administered by NPOs
  • Community centres administered by municipalities of less than 1 000 inhabitants
  • Recreational facilities administered by NPOs

For this second call for proposals, projects will have to be submitted online via the electronic form available on the Canada Economic Development website and must be received no later than April 30, 2013. About the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF) The CIIF stems from Canada’s 2012 Economic Action Plan and has a national budget of $150 million, $31.2 million of which are allocated to Quebec.
